Wolf in sheep's clothing

This phrase for a dangerous person disguising their true nature comes from the Bible, specifically Matthew 7:15, where Jesus warns of false prophets who "come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves." The image was already familiar from Aesop's Fables, written centuries before.
